Why am I the best candidate for this position?
I currently serve on the following boards:
Advisory Board Member of Homeland Park Water & Sewer District
Vice President of Homeland Park Community Watch.
Board Member of the Homeland Park Fire Department
Board Member of the Anderson 5 Charter School Governing Board
I have also served as the President of the Varennes PTO.
My write-in campaign for Commissioner in 2022 led to my appointment as the first ever Advisory Board Member by the current Board of Commissioners. Over the past two years, I have attended meetings regularly. I have gained a better understanding of the system during this time. In order to offer a different perspective, I've asked the tough questions and given advice to the Board of Commissioners.
In my role as Vice President of Homeland Park Community Watch, I have tirelessly worked with Walter Lanier to improve Homeland Park. In this position I have helped on many projects such as restoration of Wellington Historical Park while also spearheading the Christmas Fund which provides Christmas gifts to local children in need. A local tradition I helped start, the Annual Homeland Park Fall Festival, helps to provide a venue that serves the residents and promotes unity.
I have recently taken a seat on the board of Homeland Park Fire Department. While this is a new venture for me, I am excited to bring my leadership skills to better serve our beloved Fire Department and neighborhood.
I am currently serving my second term on the Governing Board for the Anderson 5 Charter School. In this position I work with other members to review and oversee the finances of the school.
